Beating the Winter Blahs by Planning For Spring and Summer

Beating the Winter Blahs by Planning For Spring and Summer

The holidays are all over, and all the decorations are packed away for another year.  Resolutions have been made, and hopefully not broken yet.  The lavender fields are covered with their row covers and a layer of snow.  The chickens and kitties are all cozy in the barn.  It seems like there is nothing to do until Spring.

That is definitely not the case around here.  While there isn't a deadline for anything rushing up to meet us, we still have a lot to do to get ready for the Spring selling season.

We are in the process of planning our first annual lavender festival for this summer, and it involves dealing with the county, so there are a lot of hoops to jump through and paperwork to be filled out, and a hearing to attend for that.  We are pretty excited about the festival, and also a little scared.  So much depends on the weather.  We know exactly what we want, but are a little worried we won't be able to pull it off.  I'm sure it will all come together and be lovely, but the first year of doing anything is a learning experience, so it will be interesting.

We have been approached by a hotel in town wanting to feature our products in their gift shop, so that is incredibly exciting.  We are working on some product designs for them since they would like a few things that they will carry exclusively.

Thrive Chiropractic in Lincoln and Gallery 75 in Auburn are now carrying Sleepy Bees items, so that has been very exciting for us as well.

For now, we will continue to produce and stockpile products, come up with new product recipes and fill out our schedule for the year.

If anyone has any ideas for things they would like to see made available, please leave us a comment.  One thing missing during the winter is the face to face experience of our booths with people giving us feedback and requests.  So if you have taken the time to read the blog and have any comments, please leave them here!

Thanks for reading!

Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your interest! I’m sorry, right now we don’t have any products available near Sioux City. We do sell online and have a shop at our home in Firth, south of Lincoln if you are ever in our area :)

Marilyn

I live in Sioux City, IA and just came across your post on Facebook. Is there any place near Sioux City that sells your products? Any availability in Omaha? Thanks so much!
